My name is Seth Palsgraaf and employed at Universal Storage Containers for a little over a year. Since last summer, I have been involved a lot in trade show preparations. Now I had the opportunity to go along to the SSA UK in Birmingham. In this article my experiences and of course the trade show itself.

Recently, our engineer Danny and Maarten were in Sweden. Danny accompanied the second shipment to a self-storage park from Kontain in Vallentuna, and then visited the annual self-storage fair in Stockholm with Maarten.

We continue to actively seek opportunities to optimize the appearance and operation of our storage facilities. For example, we are constantly looking at new ways to heat containers and improve the overall indoor environment.

We recently provided another 1BOX location with our storage containers. This time it involved the Breda branch. But before the actual placement could begin, of course, a lot of preparation had gone into it.

Of course, USC was once again prominent at the annual ISS World Expo in Las Vegas. No impressions from Jan-Hein or Maarten this time. No, this year we let our American colleagues Courtney and Katey talk about their trade show experiences.

From Feb. 5 to 9, FEDESSA’s annual Winter Workshop was back on the program. Fellow vendor Bill Brennan of Storage Future, lead sponsor of the event, had persuaded me to come along and sponsor the workshop on behalf of USC. So on Feb. 4, I traveled by train toward St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria.

On Monday, Feb. 6, the annual Career Fair at the Twente University took place. Dozens of companies presented themselves to the Industrial Design Engineering students.

Universal Storage Containers (USC) you may recognize from the white, insulated outdoor containers that can be easily divided into up to eight compartments. Since 2018, Dutch brothers Jan-Hein and Maarten Streppel, active in the storage industry for more than 15 years, have joined forces with USC. The last quarter of 2022 saw the publication of the annual Industrial Report conducted by the Federation of European Self Storage Associations FEDESSA. Despite COVID-19 and economic headwinds, the self-storage market continued to perform strongly and investor interest also continued to grow.
