And even before that period, for the benefit of a study tour of the University of Twente, I also carried out an assignment here.”

The tenth FEDESSA report once again contains a wealth of interesting information for entrepreneurs and investors. The report was produced with the cooperation of more than 100 entrepreneurs from 18 European countries.

On a Friday, our engineer Danny was asked if he could create new container layouts for a French client. The client preferred to offer storage units with different internal dimensions, which would allow him to meet the common rental sizes in France.

Almost all our containers go from the factory by ship to Rotterdam and then by truck to Deventer. Our logistics partner De Roos takes them out of the ISO container, in which they are transported, and then performs a kind of pre-assembly. On a project, they depart again from Deventer to the location in the Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe where they are expected.

If you want to set up a new self-storage location, it is wise to first have a good feasibility study carried out. Compared to the planned investment, this is only a relatively small expense. But very useful to greatly increase the chances of success. What should be in such a report?

I think that, despite all our wonderful projects, we can say we have found the most beautiful entrance to a storage park we have ever seen. In the week of January 17, we supervised a delivery in beautiful Ireland. The location was at Clare Storage, Clarecastle, in the west of the country.

Pre-war houses and houses built in the 50s, 60s and 70s often still have a mature basement floor under the entire surface of the house. When you descended the stairs, you immediately noticed the difference in temperature with the rest of the house. A great storage space. New-build houses no longer have basements, while the need for storage space is only growing.
