USC op de AESS te Sitges, Spanje<\/h1>\n

Op 15 en 16 maart jl. stond alweer de 15e editie van de <\/span>AESS<\/span><\/a>, de Spaanse self storage conferentie gepland. Dit jaar was de badplaats <\/span>Sitges<\/span><\/a>, ongeveer 30 kilometer ten zuidwesten van Barcelona, het decor van de show.<\/span><\/p>\n

Awareness<\/b><\/p>\n

Spanje houdt zijn derde positie in Europa qua hoeveelheid opslaglocaties vast, maar het blijft wel interessant dat de awareness met betrekking tot self storage nog steeds achterblijft ten opzichte van bijvoorbeeld de Nederlandse markt. Volgens de <\/span>Fedessa Survey 2022<\/span><\/a> is 45% van de Spanjaarden niet bekend met het fenomeen self storage. In ons land geldt dat slechts voor 12% van de bevolking.<\/span><\/p>\n

Terug naar vorige week. USC was als platinum sponsor goed vertegenwoordigd. We hadden\u00a0 bij binnenkomst in de zaal een fraaie locatie voor onze booth. Onze multi storey oplossing, die op dit moment bij zusterbedrijf <\/span>Salland Storage<\/span><\/a> in Deventer wordt getest, mocht wederom op veel belangstelling rekenen. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dag \u00e9\u00e9n begon rustig, want de beurs zou pas \u2018s middags openen. Hierdoor was er tijd om wat te werken, te overleggen met collega suppliers en te genieten van de omgeving tijdens een networking lunch in de fraaie haven van Sitges. Van 15.00 tot 18.00 uur waren wij te vinden op onze booth en \u2018s avonds was er een facility tour.\u00a0<\/span>

Facility tour<\/b>

Collega Danny ging mee om verschillende opslaglocaties in de omgeving van Sitges te bekijken. Het ging om andere een nieuwe locatie van Blue Storage, een al langer bestaande vestiging van Pogo en een volledig geautomatiseerde faciliteit van TotEnBox. Na de facility tour werd de dag afgesloten met een uitgebreid networking dinner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deze dag begon vroeg, de beurs opende namelijk met een gezamenlijk ontbijt om 8 uur \u2018s ochtends. Na een centrale opening van de beurs, volgden er verscheidene lectures over onderwerpen binnen de self storage branche. Tussendoor stond USC klaar bij de booth om vragen te beantwoorden en bezoekers te woord te staan. Daarna hebben we, samen met een groot gezelschap van deelnemers, de succesvolle beurstijd afgesloten. Dit deden we met een laatste, gezamenlijke maaltijd in de haven.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lokale voorraad<\/b>

Zoals altijd was het een prettig weerzien met de FEDESSA-crew en de collega suppliers die wij overal in Europa tegenkomen. Tijdens de verschillende meetings hebben we goed kunnen bijpraten en zijn waar mogelijk de banden weer aangehaald. <\/span>
<\/span>De komende jaren zullen wij onze opslagcontainers flink gaan promoten in Spanje. Het is daarbij zeker niet uitgesloten dat we ook ter plekke een voorraad aan opslagcontainers zullen gaan aanhouden.<\/span><\/p>\n
