FEDESSA Winter Workshop 2023<\/h1>\n

Van 5 tot en met 9 februari stond de jaarlijkse Winter Workshop van de FEDESSA weer op het programma. Collega-leverancier Bill Brennan van Storage Future<\/span><\/a>, hoofdsponsor van het event, had mij overgehaald om mee te komen en de workshop namens USC te sponsoren. Dus toog ik op 4 februari met de trein richting St. Anton am Arlberg, Oostenrijk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ontspannen<\/b><\/h3>\n

Het is zeker niet mijn intentie om u nu de trein in te prediken noch dat ik zo duurzaam ben, maar ik kan u wel vertellen dat zo\u2019n lange treinrit best ontspannen is. We reden door een afwisselend landschap en er was prima eten en drinken aan boord. En voor mij gold dat ik ook nog eens een hele stapel werk af had toen ik arriveerde. <\/span><\/p>\n

Accommodatie<\/b><\/h3>\n

Bij aankomst was het bijkomende voordeel dat de fraaie accommodatie<\/a>, iets wat de FEDESSA altijd goed begrijpt, tegenover het station was. Dus ik rolde van de treincoup\u00e9 zo de hotelkamer in.
Een leuk gezelschap van zo\u2019n 30 mensen was inmiddels ook gearriveerd. Naast de doorgaans Engelse deelnemers waren er nu ook vertegenwoordigers van Noorse en Italiaanse opslagbedrijven aanwezig. Kortom, zeer de moeite waard.

Workshop<\/b><\/h3>\n

Op maandagmorgen werd afgetrapt met een boeiende workshop van Laura Moxham, een inmiddels bekende verschijning binnen de Engelse storage markt. Haar verhaal ging over het optimaliseren van je website en de bijbehorende klantbeleving. Er werden krachtige handreikingen gegeven en het gezelschap was geboeid.
Aansluitend was het ski\u00ebn geblazen, want daar kwamen we tenslotte voor. De omgeving St. Anton – Z\u00fcrs – Lech vormt een modern en uitgestrekt skigebied. In Nederland is het vooral bekend vanwege de jaarlijkse skivakantie van het Koninklijk Huis, dat altijd in Hotel Gasthof Post<\/a> in Lech resideert.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hotel Gasthof Post – Lech<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Stand van zaken<\/b><\/h3>\n

Aan het begin van de avond werd iedereen door CBRE<\/a> bijgepraat over de financi\u00eble stand van zaken binnen de self storage markt. Er was aandacht voor de diverse fusies en overnames die in 2022 plaats hebben gevonden. Boeiende info om aansluitend in de bar nog eens goed over door te praten. Daar werden de late uurtjes aangetikt, dus er was nog veel na te bespreken..<\/span><\/p>\n

Automatisering<\/b><\/h3>\n

De tweede en alweer laatste dag werd door Rennie Schafer, CEO van de FEDESSA, afgetrapt. Hij vertelde ons hoe de voortschrijdende automatisering de markt verandert. Automatisering houdt ook veel meer in dan het streven naar unmanned storage. Het kan de operationele bedrijfsvoering natuurlijk ook ondersteunen. Later dit jaar zullen wij nog op dit onderwerp terugkomen.
Aansluitend bonden we wederom de ski’s onder, waarbij het opviel dat de bar Basecamp<\/a> in de loop van de middag al verrassend vol zat met deelnemers aan de Winter Workshop. De Engelse collega\u2019s maken het graag gezellig\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoge gasprijzen<\/b><\/h3>\n

Na de nodige J\u00e4ger Bommen<\/a> toog het gezelschap weer richting het hotel voor de laatste workshop, dit keer verzorgd door Sara Brannan (jazeker, de vrouw van\u2026). Ze vertelde over duurzaamheid binnen de self storage markt. Daar scoorde ik toch maar weer mooi met mijn duurzame treinreis\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

From Feb. 5 to 9, FEDESSA’s annual Winter Workshop was back on the program. Fellow vendor Bill Brennan of Storage Future, lead sponsor of the event, had persuaded me to come along and sponsor the workshop on behalf of USC.
