We vertellen niets nieuws als we stellen dat ons klimaat nogal grillig is. Vandaar dat we recent zijn gaan kijken naar mogelijkheden om containers te koelen. E\u00e9n mogelijke oplossing wordt momenteel actief getest op ons demopark in Deventer: een greenroof. Naast koeling biedt een groen dak, ook wel sedum dak genoemd, natuurlijk ook mogelijkheden om een containerpark beter op te laten gaan in de directe omgeving. Daarbij bevordert het de biodiversiteit. Alleen maar voordelen zou je zeggen. Voor de greenroofs is Universal Storage Containers een samenwerking aangegaan met Dutch Greenroof uit Holten, Overijssel. Ter kennismaking interviewden wij Rolph Markvoort, mede-eigenaar bij Dutch Greenroof.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Bij Dutch Greenroof zijn wij bezig met het kweken van sedum<\/a>. Vanuit de kwekerij installeren wij dus niet. Wel geven wij actief aanwijzingen aan partners zoals bijvoorbeeld USC hoe zij zelf het sedum voor hun klanten kunnen aanbrengen.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Waaruit bestaat sedum?<\/h3>\n

\u2018Sedum is eigenlijk vetkruid. Hiervan bestaan diverse soorten. Sedum is erg weerbestendig en heeft niet veel nodig. Dat maakt het de perfecte plant voor toepassing op daken.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoe wordt het sedum gekweekt?<\/h3>\n

\u2018Dat gebeurt hier in de volle grond. We beginnen met het strooien van een laagje potgrond. Daarna zaaien we het plantmateriaal in. Dan is het een kwestie van wachten tot het volgroeid is. Ondertussen zorgen we ervoor dat er zo weinig mogelijk onkruid tussen komt. Het duurt gemiddeld tussen de zes en twaalf maanden voordat we een volle mat hebben gekweekt, dat is ook nog afhankelijk van het seizoen.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Dat ontstond tijdens een bijeenkomst van MKB Trade Office<\/a> uit Deventer, ik heb daar Jan-Hein leren kennen en was enthousiast over zijn idee om met sedum op hun opslagcontainers te gaan werken.\u2019\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Wat hebben jullie geleverd?<\/h3>\n

\u2018Wij hebben voor USC een proefopstelling met cassettes geleverd voor twee container daken. Wij hebben gekozen voor cassettes vanwege het installatiegemak. USC kan nu namelijk zelf de sedumdaken leggen en eventueel verleggen. Zo blijft de opstelling flexibel. Hebben jullie vaker sedum voor containers geleverd?<\/h3>\n

‘Jawel, maar dat was voor containerwoningen. Dit is qua leggen vergelijkbaar, maar de containers van USC zijn bestemd voor de opslag van goederen en niet voor bewoning.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoe wordt het aangelegd?<\/h3>\n

\u2018Een normaal groen dak wordt aangelegd volgens de FLL-richtlijnen. Dat houdt in: met een beschermdoek, drainage, substraat, een scheidingsprofiel en sedum\/vegetatielaag. Het verschil met cassettes is dat deze voorgekweekt zijn en ook in cassettes aankomen bij de klant. Deze tweede optie is voor ons extra werk, maar voor USC biedt het dus extra flexibiliteit en installatiegemak.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Wat kan het effect zijn op het containerklimaat?<\/h3>\n

\u2018Sedumdaken verminderen de warmte op daken aanzienlijk. Het verschilt echter per dak met hoeveel graden dat is. Ik ben daarom ook erg benieuwd naar de testresultaten bij USC. ‘Wanneer die bekend zijn, zullen we het verschil exact weten.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Vergt het sedum onderhoud qua bewatering\/onkruid verwijderen?<\/h3>\n

Er is \u00e9\u00e9n \u00e0 twee keer per jaar wat onderhoud nodig. Dit betekent voornamelijk wat extra mest aanbrengen of het verwijderen van onkruid. Bewatering is eigenlijk niet nodig, omdat het sedum genoeg heeft aan de luchtvochtigheid die meestal ‘s ochtends het hoogst is. In hele droge klimaten is het voldoende om af en toe minimaal te bewateren.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n
