Het wordt bijna een beetje traditie zo, maar net als voorgaande jaren schrijf ik deze kerstgroet op weg naar Ierland. Deze trip met twee leveringen en een losse afspraak is mijn laatste vlucht voor 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

Na enkele onstuimige, maar interessante corona jaren, gevolgd door de krapte van de oververhitte woningmarkt, was de markt een beetje gewend geraakt aan enorme groeicijfers. Dit jaar was de groei minder sterk en tezamen met de stijgende rente betekende het in ieder geval voor ons een ander sentiment dan de afgelopen jaren. Stabiele terugverdientijd van de Z-Box<\/h3>\n

Ondanks een lichte afkoeling bleven onze klanten in onze opslagcontainers investeren. Dit jaar overigens meer met eigen geld dan geleend geld zoals leasing. Door de sterk gestegen rente een logische keuze. Verschillende bouwprojecten<\/h3>\n

Dit jaar hebben we leuke projecten gebouwd, geleverd en hersteld. We hebben u als lezer geprobeerd veelvuldig op de hoogte te houden zonder direct in een reisblog te willen veranderen. Feit is dat menig veerboot onze crew heeft mogen verwelkomen, zowel in de Nordics, Engeland, Ierland en onlangs Mallorca. We boffen gelukkig met een crew die niet snel zeeziek is. Het \u201cgeen zee te hoog\u201d spreekwoord is op ons bouwteam gelukkig van toepassing.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Itali\u00eb is het vooral de bureaucratie die ons bezig houdt. De overheid weet niet precies wat ze aanmoeten met onze containers, wat klanten weerhoudt om te starten. Samen met de AISI<\/a>, de Italiaanse self-storage branchevereniging, zijn we een project gestart om hier een best practice voor te maken die voor het hele land kan worden ingezet. Fantastisch om te zien hoe de organisatie onder leiding van Cesare Carcano zich inzet voor haar leden en voor vooruitgang in de markt. <\/span><\/p>\n

Doorlooptijd van projecten<\/h3>\n

Wat dit jaar opviel, waren een aantal projecten die doorgang vonden na meerdere jaren van planning en overleg. De eerste gesprekken hierover ontstonden al in 2019. Hierna was het een lang traject van praktische zaken als financiering en vergunningen, maar ook twijfel speelt altijd een rol. Wij pogen hier een goede rol in te vervullen door iedereen te betrekken bij onze adviezen en klanten te blijven stimuleren om hun gevoel bij het traject te blijven uitspreken. De FEDESSA, dit keer onze huisshow<\/h3>\n

Een ander hoogtepunt van 2023 was de Europese Fedessa<\/a> Show in Rotterdam. Na onder andere Engeland, Frankrijk en Portugal was de keuze dit jaar op het mooie Nederland gevallen. Voor ons voelde dit extra bijzonder, eigenlijk als een soort thuiswedstrijd. Zo vaak krijgen wij immers ook niet 750 potenti\u00eble ge\u00efnteresseerden over de vloer. Naast de door ons verzorgde openingsparty in het Maritiem Museum<\/a> hebben we ook een gezellige site tour naar Zierikzee georganiseerd, waar Martin en Jascha van Storage Zeeland<\/a> de gasten met Zeeuwse gastvrijheid en enthousiasme op hun storagepark hebben rondgeleid. <\/span><\/p>\n

Als afsluiting wijs ik u graag op de video en verslag van collega Danny over het renovatieproject dat wij afgelopen maand voor Planet Space<\/a> in Mallorca hebben uitgevoerd.
