Sustainability Solutions

At STREPPEL, we are always busy behind the scenes developing new applications for making our Z-Box more sustainable. At our demo park in Deventer, we can test these new applications extensively, and even apply them to the park already.

So far, there are two sustainable applications that can be applied on top of the Z-Box: the use of solar panels and green roofs.

Below, a number of these applications are explained.

Solar panels

At our demo park in Deventer, we are currently running a test with solar panels installed on the roof of our Z-Box. These solar panels can supply your storage park with electricity and can even generate more electricity than your business needs. STREPPEL has the knowledge and the people to install these on-site ourselves. During the construction of the park, the position of the sun can be taken into account, in order to achieve an optimal yield.

Sustainable

The solar panels generate sustainable energy. This energy can then be used elsewhere.

Green roofs

At STREPPEL, we have recently started looking into the possibility of passively cooling containers. One of these methods is the use of green roofs. These are green sedum roofs that are laid according to FFL guidelines, after the sedum has been grown at another location. A sedum roof helps to cool the containers during warmer periods, keeping our Z-Boxes at the same temperature for longer.

A cool container

Laying a green roof significantly reduces the heat on the roof of the container. The cooling capacity of the green roofs is currently being tested at our demo park in Deventer.

A green image

Installing a green roof contributes to the green image of your storage park. In addition, installing this sedum roof helps increase biodiversity, and requires little maintenance.
